CUT THE HASSLE, NOT THE RING!
The Ring Rescue patented device was designed by a team of medical doctors and engineers. It is FDA registered and meets North American safety standards.
The compression device is user-friendly, safe and professionals are delighted by the level of effectiveness. The device is applied to the swollen finger for 5-10 minutes and when the device is removed you will see that finger size is significantly reduced. Proper manipulation techniques are then used with our non-hydrating lubricant to remove the ring without ring cutting.

Is the Ring Rescue compression device safe?
Yes! The Ring Rescue compression device is safe and user-friendly. The device simply applies uniform, measurable, and targeted air pressure to comfortably compress the finger. It always makes the finger smaller and this effect lasts for several minutes, after which the finger will begin to return to it’s prior size. Patients/customers are often quite surprised at how comfortable and effective it is.
Any notable stuck rings removed?
Yes! In Summer 2019 our device helped remove a stuck Blue Jays World Series Championship Ring. The ring had been stuck for decades but it needed to be removed before surgery. It was a large ring and a challenging case, but it was deeply satisfying to help save such a sentimental and valuable ring from being cut.
Is the compression device a medical device?
The compression device is a patent-protected medical device, registered with the FDA, and our facility has a Medical Device Establishment License, all of which is required for hospital use. If you are a retail jeweller or funeral services professional, you get the benefit of this medical quality. When we developed this product, our team of doctors and engineers were committed to making Ring Rescue devices safe, user-friendly, and top quality. In fact, we are backed by the quality systems required for manufacturing medical devices, and we also offer a 2-year warranty. Our company and our brand is committed to producing a quality device that users in the medical, jewelry and funeral services industries can use confidently with patients and customers.
Does Ring Rescue’s CD actually pull the ring off?
No, the Ring Rescue CD is not designed to directly interact with the ring. The CD applies targeted pressure to make the finger smaller which allows a ring that was stuck to now have enough room to be removed. You first apply the device to reduce finger size and then once the device is removed lubricant is applied to the finger and proper manipulation techniques are used to remove the ring non-destructively. What about thick banded rings and big stones?
No problem! When dealing with this type of ring, we recommend you move the ring towards the base of the finger, so that the largest part of the finger is free for application of the device. Inflating the device applies targeted pressure and then once the round of compression is complete and the device is removed, ring removal can be attempted. The Ring Rescue compression device should not go over top of a ring. On exceptionally rare occasions, you may encounter a ring that is so large and bulky that the device cannot be used, however, there is almost always enough room on a finger to move a ring away from the knuckle enough to effectively use the device.
Where does the Ring Rescue compression device fit with me?
The Ring Rescue compression device is a patient-centric approach to ring removal. It is a safe option that avoids the risks associated with ring cutting and other removal techniques such as cutting the finger or causing discomfort. It is a great option that can be used to avoid the emotional and financial burden of cutting sentimental and valuable rings. Additionally, it is especially useful in cases of rings that are made of metals that are extremely difficult to cut such as Titanium or Tungsten. However, if you would like to continue using the ring cutting technique, the CD can still aid in the removal process by making the finger smaller giving you more space to cut the ring.
Does the Ring Rescue compression device work 100% of the time?
Yes, our device shrinks the size of the finger 100% of the time. But, it is then up to you to remove the ring. Our step by step guide will walk you through case-specific techniques to guide you towards a successful ring removal. Our tutorial videos are another good resource for understanding the best techniques for success.
Does it matter how long the ring has been stuck?
Yes and no. Although it doesn’t matter how long a ring has been stuck, the amount of time it has been stuck will change the techniques used to remove the ring.
If the patient/customer has been unable to remove the ring for 2 weeks or less, it is likely fluid that is blocking the ring from being removed. In this situation, the compression device should be applied for 5 minutes (1 round). The step by step guide outlining the corkscrew and rocker techniques should be used to attempt removal.
If the ring has been stuck for more than 2 weeks, it is likely tissue that is blocking the ring from being removed. In this case, after the first 5 minute round of placing the compression device on the finger, a second 5 minute round should be used to further shrink the finger. This is because fluid is more responsive to compression than tissue is, therefore these cases will need more time to compress down to a more manageable size.
What about arthritic fingers with large bony knuckles and rings that have been stuck for decades?
The Ring Rescue compression device will always compress the soft tissues surrounding a knuckle bone, and will always reduce finger size. The extent of size reduction really depends on the amount of reversible swelling present (fluid vs. tissue). The bone size cannot be changed, and some arthritic fingers do present an impossible scenario for direct ring removal.
What about weight gain scenarios?
Our Ring Rescue compression device still works in cases of weight gain, as the device will always compress a finger and make it smaller. However, the degree of finger size reduction when fatty tissue is present, will be less compared to cases of recent swelling. Success rates of professionals removing the stuck ring are often less in cases of excessive weight gain. Ring removal ultimately still depends on ring size, finger size, amount of reversible swelling, and most importantly the proficiency with ring removal techniques.
When the Ring Rescue CD applies pressure, the fingertip sometimes appears a bit discoloured. Is this a cause for concern?
No, this is expected and any discolouration of the finger returns to normal shortly after the device is removed.
